First Landing Page
HTML - CSS - JS - VSC
This was my first ever coding project completed within the SheCodes Basics workshop. The languages I used were the basic elements of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, whilst becoming familiar with Visual Studio Code. ๐ฉ๐ฝโ๐ป
Weather app
HTML - CSS - JS - Bootstrap - API - GitHub - Netlify
The next workshop was SheCodes Plus; my coding skills were enriched deeply through learning more about HTML, CSS and JavaScript languages, whilst also implementing the use of API, GitHub, Bootstrap and hosting via Netlify. It was a challenging 3 months of study (balanced alongside part-time work) but I learnt so much and enjoyed creating a fully-functioning Weather App!๐
Clone Website
HTML - CSS
With JustIT, I honed my front-end skills in HTML and CSS by attempting to clone the look of a website's design. This project emphasised my need to understand responsive website design, like Flexbox and CSS Grid, to successfully copy Air BnB's homepage.
JavaScript Project
HTML - CSS - JS
I initally felt less confident with backend skills like JavaScript, so I thought to focus on one small aspect of interactivity, like a photo slider (which could then be incorporated into my portfolio page). I also experimented with backgrounds using CSS.
Database Assignment
MySQL
This was my first exposure to using online databases, like MySQL. I became familiar with how to use queries and manipulate tables, henceforth producing answers to our database assignment.
Experimenting with CRUD in Python
SQLite - Python
Through guidance from my JustIT instructor, I was taught to implement CRUD functionalities to my Python Code, in the form of adding or removing songs from a menu, which prints the song list also. My code isn't perfect as it displays the reports menu first but I still found it very interesting seeing how Python can be used for backend functions.
Python Film Menu
SQLite - Python
Using CRUD functionalities for a film menu using Python.
'Film Flix' Database Project with Flask
SQLite - Python - Flask
This project allowed me to tie my frontend and backend skills
together through creating a film database with SQLite before
implementing the Flask framework.
Although quite challenging at times, I felt that this was a
milestone within my coding journey as I was able to fix certain
errors myself (such as the 'Edit Film' feature) in addition for
asking help when need be from my instructor. It revealed a new
level of technical prowess that I wasn't confident I could
conquer initally, but has made me feel proud for overcoming such
challenges in the end! ๐
